Peter and Catherine have known each other for many years. She has helped us out on a part-time basis for years, both teaching and assisting with events when the pressure is on, Now in charge of the Cookery School, she shares our passion for supporting healthier food choices and offering opportunities to make cooking fun.
During her culinary career she worked at high class establishments in London, such as Le Gavroche (Michel Roux Jnr) and then, for the past 14 years, has been running her own award winning cookery school Any Body Can Cook! We are delighted that she is now bringing her own special calm and thoughtful blend of teaching to Vaughan's.
As a qualified chef and a teacher, she has the perfect combination of experience and expertise that will enable the Cookery School to maintain the professional standards it has already established.
Catherine Maxwell: Cookery School Course Director
When she has some spare time she likes to spend it with her family and two crazy spaniels. Her reading preference is for crime books and she enjoys music and going to gigs, although this is a rare treat at the moment. She plays the harp - although not as often as she would like - best not to mentioned that she played it at a friends wedding not so long ago. We need her in the kitchen so don't want to give anyone any ideas about a harp-playing chef! When asked about what she liked to do in her spare time, she wrote down cooking - a sign of a genuinely passionate chef.
