Cookery Classes

What time should I arrive?

No more than 15 minutes before the advertised start time. There is a lot to set up and we like to be prepared. However, we start promptly as we pack a lot in to the sessions.

Will I be cooking or watching demonstrations?

The class is a busy hands-on session. There may be short demonstrations to show you what to do but you will be doing the cooking.

What do I need to bring?

Just yourself, wearing a comfortable non-slip pair of shoes/trainers. All ingredients, equipment and aprons will be supplied PLUS we will do the washing up! If you have booked with a voucher, bring that along and hand to the tutor.

How big will the group be?

We keep our group size small (maximum 10) so that you get plenty of attention, whether you want to be helped or stretched. You will be working in a friendly and sociable environment.

Do I need to eat before I come or bring food with me?

Most evening sessions finish with a meal together or tastings as you go along. During the day classes you will sit down for lunch at a convenient time.

Corporate Team Building & Away Days

Why choose a culinary challenge as a team building exercise?

      • We all need to eat and most people thoroughly enjoy tasty food.
      • The process of preparing a meal together requires organisation and team effort.
      • There are tasks for everyone, from the Gordon Ramsey wannabes to those who only know their way around a toaster and a kettle.
      • It boosts morale to see that a beautiful meal can be prepared within a short space of time.
      • A bit of competition between teams makes it more fun.
      • Unlike other team building activities, this one has edible outcomes!

      How many can attend?

We can accommodate up to 15 at the cookery school or up to 48 at other locations - we have used quite a few in the area.

      How long does it last?

The most popular choice is half a day (2½ - 3 hours). It starts with a demo of the dishes, then each team goes to their kitchen area to produce the full meal. After judging, everyone can sit down to enjoy the fruits of their labour.

There are full day options as well (approx 5 hours in total).

      What will we make?

We have many themes/menus that will suit and can tailor them to your requirements. Some of the most popular are:

      Middle Eastern Mezza
      Spanish Tapas
Bake Off Challenge - Afternoon Tea

What if some of our team have food allergies or special dietary requirements?

We can accommodate these, if we know in advance.

What time of day would this be?

Whatever time suits your requirements, depending on availability of staff and facilities.

      How much does it cost?

As this is variable, depending on size of group, menu choice etc, send us an email to school@vaughanskitchen.co.uk with a rough idea of numbers, the length of session your would like (half-day or full-day), the date if you have a specific one or the day of the week/month you are planning this for.

      Bespoke Cooking Experiences

      How long does it last?

Allow at least two and a half hours, morning, afternoon or evening to have some fun, learn something and sit down for a meal at the end.

      What will we make?

We have many themes/menus that will suit and can tailor them to your requirements. Some of the most popular are:

      Middle Eastern Mezza
      Spanish Tapas
Bake Off Challenge - Afternoon Tea

However, these are just a few. We can offer any cuisine that is on our cookery class programme.

What if some of our group have food allergies or special dietary requirements?

We can accommodate these, if we know in advance.

        How many can attend?

We can accommodate up to 15 at the cookery school (working in teams) or 10 working individually. However, we can also come to you - if you have the space and are not too far away.

        How much does it cost?

For a group of 10 it is surprisingly affordable and far cheaper per person than the same number of people attending one of our cookery classes. Send an email to school@vaughanskitchen.co.uk with the details and we'll send you a quote.

        Pop-up Restaurant Night

What’s the address for pop-up restaurant night?

The Dutch Barn, Owl Lodge, Forest Lane, Lacock SN15 2PN

        How to get there?

Please note that Owl Lodge can not be accessed via Spye Park - even if your SatNav tells you something different! Look out for a sign for the turn off from Forest Lane. The venue is located down a typically English country lane (so please take care when driving). Carry on and drive through Lacock Dairy Farm, keep going and at the end of the lane follow the road towards your left and you will find the car park.

        Where do I park?

There is plenty of parking for all the guests at the venue car park.

        What time shall I arrive?

        Please arrive between 7-7.30pm.

Can I buy tickets on the door?

Sorry, we are only able to accommodate guests who buy tickets in advance.

        Is there a dress code?

Please dress for an evening in the countryside.
From the car park guests make their way across the cobbled yard, more used to hooves than stilettos!
While there is a giant fire pit in the middle of the room and The Dutch Barn will be pleasantly warm, it may be better to keep your proper going out attire for other occasions because of warmth & smoke.

        What happens when I arrive?

You will be welcomed by Vaughan’s Kitchen staff and shown to your seats. You will be seated at long communal tables surrounding the giant fire pit in the centre and in the extension up a small step.

Is there a bar available at the venue?

There will be a bar open for drinks. You will be able to purchase a selection of wines, beers and soft drinks on the night. Cash or card payments will be accepted.

Can you cater for special dietary requirements?

We can cater for any dietary requirements but we must be informed in advance of the night.
Due to the nature of the event no changes to the menu will be possible on the night and no refunds will be given should we not be aware of any guests with dietary requirements well in advance of the event.
